Superslam title in Croydon ‘Street Fight’

DEAN ALLMARK faces probably his toughest title test to date when defending the highly prized Superslam Championship belt in an anything-goes Street Fight against metal-masked force Thunder at the Fairfield Halls, Croydon, on Friday November 21. The programme, starting at 7.30pm also includes top tag team action as the London Riots get a crack against Norfolk’s notorious UK Hooligans Roy and Zak Knight. Wirral-based ‘Extreme’ Dean is always sure of an enthusiastic welcome from the Croydon regulars but 20 stones marauder Thunder, the heavyweight force who spends a lot of time competing on the Continent in the major German and Austrian tournaments, proved in an earlier Fairfield clash that with the bit between his teeth he is one man who takes a lot of stopping. For this clash falls can be scored in or out of the ring and Thunder believes his power and big weight advantage can win the day and end Allmark’s run as champion stretching back to 2012. Norfolk’s Knight brothers have become one of the most feared tag teams on this side of the Atlantic and although their progress was stopped when Zak was side-lined by a knee injury, he will be fighting fit when entering the ring in the Fairfield Gallery Arena against the hard-hitting London Riots combination of James Davis and Rob Lynch. There’s more top solo action with Josh Faulkner, only just 19 and from Victoria in the very heart of London, continuing to make tremendous progress towards his ambition of getting a chance to shine with the WWE in the United States – and this time he has to try and overcome Sussex sizzler Danny Driscoll. Ladies action sees Aleysha facing Katy Rice while two of the top prospects to emerge from Robbie Brookside’s highly regarded Leicester-based training school, teenager Toby Clements and 22 year-old Jack Starz are set to meet in what looks sure to be a fast paced contest. Tickets, including a special £45 offer covering two adults and two children under 16, are now on sale at the Fairfield Halls box office with telephone bookings to 0208-688-9291

GUY FAWKES night might be past but All Star Wrestling promise November fireworks when two more events in their fiercely competitive eight-man knockout series open a new winter season at Ipswich and Leaminghton Spa with the preliminary bout winners then battling it out in a fatal four way ‘money in the bank’ decider. First up with a 7.30pm start time is a Friday November 14 bill at Ipswich Corn Exchange before the battle lines are re-drawn next night, Saturday November 15 at the Royal Spa Centre in Leamington, where the action starts at 6pm. At Ipswich, in an interesting break from tradition, Norwich based brothers ‘Zebra Kid’ Roy and Zak Knight for once abandon their quest for tag team glory as the UK Hooligans to make a bid for solo success and there will be a Suffolk debut for 6ft 6in tall hillbilly campaigner ‘Cousin’ Jake Wyatt and 20 year-old New Zealander Jay White. There’s also potentially explosive international ladies action in prospect with aggressive Canadian contender Leah van Dutch facing Britain’s ladies number one Sweet Saraya, the Norfolk campaigner who has seen action as far afield as Australia, Canada and the United States this year, the latter tour to the end of October giving Saraya a rare chance to catch up with her US-based daughter Britani Knight, now best known as WWE ladies headliner Paige. Tickets for Ipswich, including the popular 2+2 family offer for £45 are on sale at the Corn Exchange, telephone 01473-433100. No one will be more determined to impress at Leamington, the town he calls home when not battling a path of destruction across mainland Europe, than metal masked force Thunder. But the competition will be fierce with an international element provided by US-based Dave Finlay junior; Devon ace Oliver Grey; the uncompromising T.J.Stomper while the Knight boys Zak and Roy will also be on hand along with ‘Cousin’ Jake Wyatt and Dean Allmark. There’s also another test for Sweet Saraya, this time from fast climbing Katy Price. Tickets are now on sale at the Royal Spa Centre box office, telephone 01926-334418. Further information on All Star presentations can be found on the ASW Facebook page at All Star Wrestling U.K. while late line-up news is never far away from the Wrestlecall telephone hot line, updated every Monday on 09068-121884 and with calls costing 60p. per minute.
Banner challenge to the younger fans
Facing the camera: Hans Hoffman, Oliver Grey, Dave Finlay jr, ‘Prima Donna ‘Nathan Cruz
AFTER a tremendous response for All Star Wrestling’s Halloween children’s fancy dress competition at the Beck Theatre, Hayes, on October 31, there’s now a fresh challenge for younger fans attending the big November bills at Ipswich, Leamington Spa and Croydon. This time boys and girls can show support for their wrestling favourites by making and bringing along their own banners – and the best efforts will receive special prizes including free tickets for future events. Wrestlers from the three different line-ups will decide the best banners with the children who made them invited to the ring to receive their prizes.
‘PRIMA DONNA’ of the ring Nathan Cruz is making the most of a chance to shine with a series of bouts during the WWE’s British tour and, of course, wrestles with a determination and intensity that could well come as quite a shock to some of the Americans.
GERMAN firebrand Hans Hoffman, the Hannover-based heavyweight campaigner who has been making a big impression in All Star rings since last summer has now headed for home – but not without leaving a message for a man who became a particular rival, Devon-based star Oliver Grey. Hoffman plans to return in February 2015 and has left the matchmakers in no doubt he wants to face former WWE NXT star Grey in ‘Money in the Bank’ matches at the first opportunity. Dave Finlay junior, son of the original ‘Belfast Bruiser’ Dave senior, also signs-off and heads back to the United States after appearing in All Star’s Leamington Royal Spa Centre bill on Saturday November 15 and is sure of a welcome should he wish to return in the future.
